Installing the Chrome Extension
How to install the Linc AI Chrome extension required for live screen recording — it's detected automatically once installed — and what to do if the session still can't see it.
The Chrome extension is required for live screen recording ("Start Fresh" sessions). If it isn't already installed, the session shows a "Browser extension not detected" notice with an install link instead of letting you start.
- When prompted, click the "Install it here" link in the session. It opens the extension — named Linc AI Interviewer Recorder — in the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then Add Extension in Chrome's confirmation popup.
- Come back to the Linc tab. Within a few seconds the notice changes to "Browser extension detected" and you can start recording — no refresh needed. If Linc can see the extension is installed but the page can't reach it yet, it refreshes the page for you once (you'll see "Browser extension installed — refreshing this page…").
Note: If the notice instead says the extension is installed but the page can't reach it, refresh the page yourself; if that doesn't help, close the tab and open Linc again.
The extension is only available on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers — use Chrome for the best experience. Without it, you can still document a workflow by uploading a pre-recorded video instead (see Uploading Content).
