Overview
What Linc AI is, how work is organized into Initiatives, what each area of the sidebar does, and where to start based on your role.
Linc AI captures how work actually happens inside your organization and turns it into structured, actionable documentation. Your team records workflows on their own time, and the platform generates SOPs, process diagrams, and improvement recommendations automatically.
Work is organized into Initiatives — each Initiative usually maps to a department or area of your organization (for example Finance, HR, or Customer Operations), with its processes documented in the sidebar Library of living SOPs.
The main areas
Everything is reachable from the left sidebar, in two groups.
Workspace:
- Home (house icon) — Your dashboard. With an Initiative selected it leads with that Initiative's processes, then coverage and a compact Documents card. Invitations waiting for you (and sessions you already accepted but haven't finished) sit above that, each with Accept or Continue — the same count as the badge next to Home. Org admins and Initiative admins also see analysis totals and a Run Architect prompt when nothing has been analyzed yet; other members see sessions and documents, not a run they cannot start. In the "All Initiatives" view, org admins get a company overview instead.
- Chat (message icon) — Ask questions about uploaded documents. The AI searches the files you select and answers with citations.
- Library (folder icon) — Your official, living SOPs and your documents, filed together in your organization's folder tree. The single, maintained version of each process your organization uses; upload documents into a folder here too.
- Discovery (compass icon, admins only) — Run an Initiative's interview programme: Coverage, Interviews (who's been asked, plus Invite and, for org admins, Plan a round with the AI interview planner), and Recording days.
Agents — the AI tools that do work for you:
- Scout (record icon) — Record or upload workflow evidence, answer AI-guided questions, and generate SOPs and BPMN diagrams.
- Architect (network icon) — Analyze documented workflows to find gaps, improvement opportunities, governance issues, and transformation roadmaps.
- Designer (ruler icon, admins only) — Redesign a process: see its current map side by side with an AI-designed future state, refine it with the Design Agent, and export it as a BPMN file.
- Miner (Beta, if visible) — Bring in process logs and review process mining and conformance views.
An Account group sits below Agents with Oversight (reporting for admins: how the interview programme is going, how the assistant is being used, and whether AI output is inside policy), Initiative Settings (visible to org admins and Initiative admins), Admin (organization settings, org admins only), and Private Collections when you have access. Your name and email sit at the very bottom — click that block to open Documentation (this guide), Send Feedback, switch theme, or sign out.
Switching Initiatives
The sidebar is headed by the Linc AI wordmark, with a workspace card below it naming the Initiative you're in. Use that card to switch between Initiatives. Each Initiative in the dropdown shows a small count badge when it has items needing your attention. Org admins also get an "All Initiatives" option for the organization-wide view, and a New Initiative entry to create one; everyone else switches among the Initiatives they belong to.
Search
At the very top of the sidebar is Search, which you can open any time with ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows). Start typing and it lists matching Initiatives, processes, departments, interviews, people, Library folders, and chats, plus the pages themselves — pick one to jump straight there. It matches names and titles only; to ask a question about what's inside your documents, use Chat instead. You only ever see things you already have access to. The Library has a separate box beside Add (press /): it filters the folder you have open and stays on that page.
